Welcome to Cornwall Apartment Holidays - and a hugely more enjoyable, and modern way to enjoy self catering in Cornwall. We offer you two luxury, modern apartments, both of which have been designed and equipped to provide you with the “feel” and modernity of a boutique hotel whilst at the same time allowing you the comforts of being totally independent. Self-catering has, at last, come-of-age and no longer means putting up with someone else’s cast-offs, swirly-patterned sticky carpets and floral duvets. Instead, our apartments are both furnished to a very high standard and include flat-screen T.Vs, D.V.Ds, broadband wireless internet, ipod speakers, telephones, hi-fi system, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, local books, maps, bed linen and towels to a picnic set, beach chairs and windbreak.

Ocean's edge , Mevagissey.

One of only twelve luxury cliff top apartments which was designed and built in 2001, it is situated at the top of a hill at the very edge of the sea. The views of Mevagissey harbour and the Cornish coast in both directions are un-interrupted and spell-binding. From local croissants and coffee at breakfast to the very last glass of Camel Valley wine before bed you will find it hard to tear yourself away from an ever-changing vista of boats, sunrises, sunsets, seagulls and stars – all accompanied by the soporific breaking of the waves directly below. Ocean’s edge is a first floor apartment, sleeps 4 and comprises of a double and twin bedroom with en-suite shower-room, a family bathroom, a lounge, dining room and balcony all with glorious sea-views, and a luxury kitchen.

Holidays in Cornwall have always had a nostalgic rosy glow about them, and Mevagissey is no exception. It is still a traditional working Cornish fishing village with the busy harbour being the very heart of the village. A long and colourful history of smuggling and boat building [since 1745] all adds to its charm. Very narrow lanes are filled with art galleries, gift shops, cafes, restaurants [from seafood to Italian and Portuguese] and pubs. Once the centre for pilchard fishing, Mevagissey was the first to have electric street lighting powered by pilchard oil and was the birth place of Pears soap. Ocean’s Edge is a mere 5 minutes walk away from the centre of the village [this is downhill – its more like 10 minutes going back!] and as we offer a covered car parking space you won’t want to take the car.

Water's edge, Falmouth.

Situated in a great position directly on the seafront close to Falmouth's sandy beaches, water's edge is south-facing with views from Pendennis castle to the Helford river and the Lizard peninsula beyond. It has constantly changing marine views over the whole of Falmouth bay. Water's edge is a ground floor apartment, sleeps 4 and comprises of a double with en-suite bathroom and twin bedroom, a family bathroom, a lounge, dining room, luxury kitchen and a patio
set amongst the manicured communal gardens with views directly over the bay.

Falmouth lies at the entrance to Carrick Roads, one of the great waterways and the third largest, deep water natural harbours in the world. Sir Walter Raleigh first saw the potential for a port here and Henry VIII realised its strategic importance building Pendennis castle on the headland to protect it, mirrored on the opposite headland by St.Mawes castle. The port was further developed by the Killigrew family and it became the base for the Falmouth packets, which carried the mail to the colonies. The Port and harbour are renowed in the sailing world, with many famous sailing racing events starting and finishing here, notably Ellen Macarther. Falmouth hosts the Henri-lloyd sailing week, has been home to the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club since 1872 and now also hosts an annual oyster festival. There are ever-growing numbers of pleasure boats enjoying the Fal estuary, which offers 12 miles of navigable water, reaching inland as far as the cathedral city of Truro. This increasing leisure boating market has resulted in tourism becoming Falmouth's main source of income. From Pendennis castle to bowling, learning to sail to a wildlife boat safari, visiting the art galleries to sunbathing on one of the three sheltered, south-facing beaches, visiting the seal sanctuary to taking the ferry to a good pub, there is plenty to do....

As holiday accommodation in Cornwall, both apartments are ideally situated for exploring all of the best local attractions including The Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Maritime Museum, the Coastal path and many local beaches and coves. Have a look at our “Out & About” section for extensive details on where to go, what to eat, what to do etc over a wide area of Cornwall. From walking to surfing, from pubs to fine dining, from farmers markets to pick-your-own, from beaches to spas, from gardens to golf, from sailing to ferries, we hope to give you so much to do that one week won’t be enough!

Look also at the “The Apartments” for a more detailed inventory and more information on each apartment – hopefully, the only things you’ll have to bring are your clothes, some food and drink and an appetite for enjoying yourselves. Welcome to a modern self-catering holiday in Cornwall and welcome to our homes at the coast, we know you’ll love them.

Warmest regards, Tracy, David, Beth and Cassie Rist.
